Dr. Emily Keister—known to her patients as Dr. K—earned her Bachelor’s in Vision Science and her Doctorate in Optometry from Pacific University. She completed her advanced clinical training at Bascom Palmer, the #1 ranked eye hospital in the United States, where she was exposed to a vast array of complex ocular diseases.

It was during her time in the eye emergency department that she discovered a surprising trend: 50% of the emergencies she encountered were actually the result of severe, untreated dry eye. This realization sparked a career-long passion for specialized dry eye management, helping patients find lasting relief where traditional drops often fail.

After completing her clinical rotations at the Bend VA and Kaiser Permanente in the Portland metro area, Dr. K is thrilled to be back home in the Pacific Northwest. Originally from Sherwood, Oregon, she feels most at home among the evergreens and mountains. When she isn’t in the clinic, you’ll likely find her exploring the Olympic National Forest or out on the beautiful trails right here in Sequim.
